Visit our friendly farm shop to buy our own pasture fed lamb and beef in season from our small herd of Belted Galloway Cattle and our flock of Balwen Welsh Mountain Sheep (new season's lamb now available!)
Pedigree Herd Of Belted Galloway Cattle
Belted Galloway cattle are noted for their distinctive appearance, ours
are black & white, but the breed also has red & white
and dun & white. These hardy animals are typically
associated with Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland.
Our small herd at Lux Farm thrive grazing naturally throughout
the
year, with only a small amount of winter supplementary
feeding of UK produced sugar beet pellets and our own farm grown hay,
straw and silage.
The combination of a traditional British breed, a natural grass based
diet and good herd management has produced excellent quality beef of
which we are proud and we hope you enjoy.
Balwen Welsh Mountain Sheep
Balwen Welsh Mountain Sheep originate from one small valley in Wales, the Tywi valley. Since the breed almost disappeared in the particularly harsh winter of 1947, enthusiasts have worked hard to restore this hardy breed, known for its sturdy good health and delicious sweet meat. The animals are smaller than some less hardy breeds, but the quality of the meat is second to none. Enjoy our seasonal British lamb from late September!
